Position Overview
PharmaForce is seeking an experienced ETL Manager to lead a team responsible for end-to-end monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of inbound and outbound data pipelines across all PharmaForce platforms. This leader will oversee data ingestion processes for EDI, flat files, switch data, HL7, direct feeds, FTP/SFTP, vendor exchanges, and proprietary data transmission tools.
The ideal candidate brings strong ETL leadership experience, thrives in a fast-paced data environment, and is skilled in root-cause analysis, proactive monitoring, workflow optimization, and cross-functional issue resolution. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data flowing into PharmaForce systems, supporting our customers’ 340B, Contract Pharmacy, and Split Billing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing ETL & Data Operations team focused on real-time monitoring and resolution of data ingestion issues.
- Establish team KPIs, SLAs, and performance standards for accuracy, timeliness, and issue resolution.
- Develop staffing plans, on-call rotations, and escalation procedures to support 24/7 data monitoring coverage.
Data Ingestion & Monitoring Oversight
- Own the health of all inbound/outbound data feed pipelines across platforms.
- Monitor customer and PharmaForce FTP locations for pending, delayed, or failed files.
- Oversee loading and validation of files across stage tables, FGS, and downstream processing layers.
- Ensure proactive detection of early warning signs, including missing files, reduced volume, naming conventions, data anomalies, or schema changes.
Issue Management & Resolution
- Lead triage, root-cause investigation, and resolution of data ingestion failures and anomalies.
- Establish structured daily monitoring routines and automated alerting for load failures, volume variation, and data discrepancies.
- Publish issue status and trends to leadership and cross-functional partners via Teams Channels (dedicated data ingestion health channel).
- Partner with internal Product, Engineering, Support, and Client teams to resolve recurring defects and design long-term remediation plans.
Vendor & Partner Collaboration
- Serve as primary liaison with data vendors, switch partners, wholesalers, and pharmacy chains to resolve integration and feed issues.
- Govern change control for new file types, naming structures, frequency changes, FHIR/HL7 upgrades, and data exchange enhancements.
- Ensure vendor SLAs are met for file delivery, quality, and timeliness.
Process, Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Implement automation, monitoring tools, dashboards, and alerts to reduce manual monitoring effort and increase ingestion accuracy.
- Maintain documentation for workflows, error codes, SOPs, runbooks, and known issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline ETL performance, reduce defects, and enhance early detection capabilities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing ETL, Data Operations, or Data Engineering within healthcare, SaaS, PBM, TPA, or pharmacy systems.
